About Abdalla
I'm a Senior Software Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with more than 15 years of experience in backend development, software architecture, and enterprise integration.
My professional journey began in software and embedded systems engineering and expanded into enterprise platforms, telecommunications, fintech, and digital banking.
Today, I focus primarily on Java and Spring Boot, microservices, payment integrations, and event-driven architectures. I enjoy working across the full engineering lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and defining API contracts to designing, implementing, testing, and deploying reliable backend services.
I have also led engineering teams, reviewed architectures, mentored developers, and worked with product owners, platform engineers, security teams, and external technology providers.
My engineering philosophy is to solve the right problem with the appropriate level of complexity: prioritize clarity, reliability, maintainability, and effective collaboration over unnecessary abstraction.
Engineering philosophy
Solve the right problem
Start from the business requirement and the API contract before choosing a design.
Appropriate complexity
Prefer clarity and maintainability over unnecessary abstraction.
Reliability through collaboration
Reliable services come from clear contracts, careful testing, and close work with every team involved.
